Over the past 20 years, the Jewish Agency has led the effort to bring Ethiopian Jews home. This historic immigration started in 1980 with secret operations to smuggle hundreds of Jews to Israel and continued with Operation Solomon’s 2-day airlift of more than 14,000 Ethiopians. Today, more than 10,000 Ethiopian Jews still wait to come home; and many Ethiopian Israelis struggle to find their rightful place in Israel's modern society.
